William Stone is a tax controversy attorney whose practice encompasses all phases of federal and state tax disputes, including audits, administrative appeals, and litigation before the United States Tax Court and other federal courts. He represents individuals, businesses, and partnerships in high-stakes matters where procedure, strategy, and careful issue development are critical.

His practice is particularly focused on partnership disputes, penalty litigation, and challenges to improper IRS enforcement actions, where procedural compliance and statutory safeguards often determine outcomes.
Before entering private practice, William clerked for the Honorable Joseph W. Following his clerkship, William practiced tax controversy law at well-respected tax controversy firms in Atlanta, where he represented clients in complex federal and state tax disputes.
During law school, William worked in the Philip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic and continues to maintain an active pro bono practice assisting low-income taxpayers.
